The Rector

The Rev. Charles Warner B.A., M.T.S., D.Min.

Father Charles Warner was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on May 14th,1959. Raised in Whitney Pier, he attended high school at Sydney Academy. Fr. Warner graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He also has a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from St. Andrew’s College, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (2005) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Acadia University (2010), both fully accredited institutions through the Association of Theological Schools. In addition to this, Father Warner also has experience in the field of Pastoral Care.

Prior to becoming Rector of Holy Cross in 2007, Fr. Charles Warner was involved in various ministries in the Sydney area, participating and leading in Liturgy, Religious Education and Pastoral Care. He has been married for thirty-four years to his wife Cathy. The Warner’s have three adult children.

Fr. Warner is a founding member and Vicar of the Society of St. Michael (SSM), and also a member of both the Society of King Charles the Martyr (SKCM), and Forward in Faith North America (FIFNA). After almost twenty-five years in ministry, Father Warner continues to look forward to ministering to the people of Cape Breton.
